About The Station / Help Using The Station
Patricroft Station serves communities throughout the Eccles district, including the neighbouring areas of Patricroft, Monton, Winton, Barton, Eccles, Worsley, Peel Green and further afield.
The station is located on Green Lane, Eccles (M30 0GX) between Liverpool Road and Monton.
Patricroft Station today represents an opportunity to generate increased passenger usage, with an improvement to overall rail services and station facilities.
The station currently has fairly basic facilities – a simple unstaffed station with a Ticket Vending Machine ('TVM') and two open platforms serving trains to Manchester and Liverpool. The old brick shelters are no longer in use and have been fitted with locked doors.
Patricroft Station presents an exciting opportunity to develop simple, cost-effective, improvements for the users of the rail service; providing a mutual benefit to the local community and rail operator alike.
Large open spaces at the station present an opportunity to display extensive artwork and information, viewable to many regular commuters and users of this important rail transport link.
Using the Station - Patricroft station has a single Ticket Vending Machine, which accepts only card payments. A Promise to Pay notice must be obtained from the machine if passengers require to make a cash purchase of tickets from the guard/'ticket conductor' onboard the train or at their destination (usually at the platform ticket barrier). Before travelling, all passengers must obtain a ticket or a Promise to Pay notice. If theTVM is not working, rail staff have facilities that confirm whether the machine is functioning.
Non-step Access - Friends of Patricroft Station is campaigning to have non-step access to the platforms. In the meantime, please refer to Northern Rail's policies and FAQs on disability access and assistance.
Manchester & Liverpool - Manchester is 10-12 minutes away, while travelling to Liverpool takes less than an hour.
Frequency of Trains – Patricroft's train service runs hourly, Monday-Saturday (ideally this will increase!).
